Examining Successful Attributes for Academic Performance using Machine Learning
Authors: Amrutha N S, Mrs. Pushpalatha S
Abstract
Identification of different factors which affects a student’s learning behavior and performance during academic career. Analyzing student mental issues and low academic performances is a complex task in the current education sector. In current system it is difficult to track the students behavior and characteristics. There is no automation or tool which predicts or shows how to improvise the students academic performances. Finding the correlation between factors that affects student’s performance and academic results pays a vital role in the current education sector. System uses data science technique called as "Association Learning" to find the patterns. We use either "apriori algorithm" or "apriori TID algorithm" or "Eclat algorithm" to find patterns. Proposed system build as real time application useful to colleges and lecturers to know the students behaviour patterns. System also aims at predicting the individual performance. System uses machine learning algorithm called as “naive bayes” algorithm for student’s performance prediction individually.
Food Spoilage Detection System Using Arduino

Abstract
In the modern era of technology and with increasing dependency on smart techniques like mobile phone, there is requirement of solving daily life tasks in a quick and easy ways. The smart technology is becoming the need of hour to take control over the different tasks at home and industries. This paper is based on food detection system using Arduino. The system proposed is based on detection and recognition algorithms The main function of the algorithm is to automatically detect the smell and generates message to user that the food is spoiled. The paper deals with the technologies that use Arduino which employs the programming and sensors. The key feature of computer vision is Arduino for reasons like marketability & law abiding apps. and secondly after lot of research the accessibility of realistic technologies. This area of research finds a important place among different type of researchers and scientists like computer, food & different organizations. The microcontroller panel has the capability to perform functions which include interpreting inputs and outputs and make the sensor to activate. Generally food is stored in the refrigerator that lowers down the bacteria rate of production. Certain items which are perishable or not used for long term storage are to be detected and informed to the user. This paper is basically discussed to solve the food spoilage through sensors by continuously sensing the signals from the food and also sending the alert message to the registered mobile phone.

Abstract
An isocratic RP-HPLC method had been developed for rapid simultaneous separation and determination of sparfloxacin, gatifloxacin, metronidazole and tinidazole in pure form or in presence of some impurities within 5 minutes. Separation was carried out on a Chromolith® Performance RP-18e (100 x 4.6 mm) using a mobile phase of MeOH : 0.025M KH2PO4 adjusted to pH 3 using ortho - phosphoric acid (20:80, v/v) at ambient temperature. The flow rate was 4 ml/min and maximum absorption was measured at 290 nm. The standard curve was linear in the concentration range of 1-80 µg/mL for all drugs. The retention time of sparfloxacin, gatifloxacin, metronidazole and tinidazole was noted to be 4.3, 3, 1.8 and 1.2 minutes respectively, indicating shorter analysis time. The method was validated according to ICH guidelines. The proposed method was found to be accurate, reproducible, and consistent. It was successfully applied for the analysis of these drugs in marketed formulations and could be effectively used for the routine analysis of formulations containing any one of the above drugs, or a combination, without any alteration in the chromatographic conditions.
Screening of Antimicrobial Potential and Phytoconsituents for Different Extracts of Memecylon umbellatum Burm Inflorescences
Authors: Suresh G. Killedar, Harinath N. More
Abstract
The plant Memecylon umbellatum Burm is small tree or shrub with beautiful purple inflorescences. Various other parts of the plant were studied for different medicinal properties but no scientific data on inflorescence except the description about its beauty and photographs. Hence in the present work efforts have been made to investigate antimicrobial properties and phytochemical screening of the inflorescence. Six different extracts with non polar and polar solvents were screened for antimicrobial activity by cylinder cup plate method using standard cultures (ATCC), MIC by serial broth dilution and phytochemical screening was made with different chemical reagents. Ethyl acetate and methanol extracts have shown better activities compare to other extracts and were found significant compare to control and standard at tested concentrations. MIC for ethyl acetate and methanol extract was found at 0.5mg for most of the test organisms compare to 3 and 6mg for other extracts. All other extracts have shown very weak activity as compare to standard even at higher concentrations. Most of the non polar extracts showed almost negligible anti fungal and very weak antibacterial activities. Different extracts showed presence of tannins, glycosides, triterpens and steroids as important constituents.
