Abstract
The hybrid-STATCOM consists of an active inverter part and a thyristor controlled LC part (TCLC). The TCLC part provides a great voltage drop between the system voltage and the inverter voltage and wide reactive power compensation range. A small DC-link voltage level the active inverter part can continue to operate. To select the performances of the TCLC small rating of the active inverter part is used for riveting the harmonic currents generated, avoiding mistuning of the firing angles, and preventing the resonance problem. The system costs can be significantly condensed because of these characteristics. To allow operation under different voltage and current conditions, such as unbalanced current, voltage dip, and voltage fault the Hybrid STATCOM is used. For the individual characteristics of a great wider compensation range and a much lower DC- link voltage a hybrid-STATCOM is introduced. The system constraint design is then proposed on the basis of consideration of the reactive power compensation range and prevention of the potential resonance problem.

Abstract
The present manuscript deals with the synthesis of some novel mixed ligand complexes of Cadmium and their characterization on the basis of melting point, elemental and spectral analysis. The newly synthesized complexes were also tested for their antibacterial, antifungal and antitumor activity in-vitro and their results of screening clearly indicating them as potent biomedicinal agents.

Abstract
This paper present result of an experimental investigation carried out to evaluate effects of replacing aggregates (course& fine) with that of Slag (Crystallized & Granular) which is an industrial waste by product on concrete strength properties by using Taguchi’s approach of optimization. Whole study was done in three phases, in the first phase natural coarse aggregate was replaced by crystallized slag coarse aggregate keeping fine aggregate (natural sand) common in all the mixes, in the second phase fine aggregate (natural sand) was replaced by granular slag keeping natural coarse aggregate common in all the mixes and in the third phase both the aggregates were replaced by crystallized & granular aggregates. The study concluded that compressive strength of concrete did not improve almost all the % replacements of normal crushed coarse aggregate with crystallized slag by 5% to 7%. In case of replacements of fine aggregate and both type of aggregates, the strength improvements were notably noticed at 30% to 50% replacement level. It could also be said that full substitution of slag aggregate with normal crushed coarse aggregate improved the flexure and split tensile strength by 6% to 8% at all replacements and in case of replacing fine aggregate & both the aggregates( Fine & coarse) with slag, the strength improvement was at 30% to 50% replacements. It is evident from the investigation that Taguchi approach for optimization helped in indentifying the factors affecting the final outcomes. Based on the overall observations, it could be recommended that Slag could be effectively utilized as coarse & fine aggregates in all concrete applications.

Abstract
This paper focusing onthe comparison of total harmonics distortion (THD) of the output voltage is minimized by the help of a cascade multilevel inverter with reduced number of switches with un-equal DC sources using the conventional PWM techniques and modified SHE PWM using particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm. To address the issues of the multilevel inverters with better performance and efficiency there has been increased advancements with level shift PWM technique, phase shift PWM, POD PWM, APOD PWM and NLC PWM. The paper deals with the analysis of some such advancements like particle swarm optimization techniques and is contrasted to pulse width modulation technique in terms of total harmonic reduction, feasibility, switching pattern of PWM techniques and efficiency. Due to the conventional PWM techniques the complexity of the increased number of elements and harmonics can be reduced with the particle swarm optimization technique and can also determine the optimized switching angles in reducing the selected harmonics. The simulations of the analysis are carried out in the Matlab and the same are presented in the paper which are indeed proved to be better for PSO in contrast to conventional PWM techniques.
