Abstract
The aim of the present investigation was to form matrix type transdermal patches containing Nebivolol hydrochloride were prepared using two polymers by solvent evaporation technique to minimize the dose of the drug for lesser side effect and increase bioavailability of drug. Aluminium foil was used as a backing membrane.. Polyethylene glycol (PEG) 400 was used as plasticizer and Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) was used as penetration enhancer. Drug polymer interactions determine by FTIR and standard calibration curve of ketoprofen were determine by using UV estimation. The formulated transdermal patch by using EudragitRS100, HPMC K100M, showed good physical properties. All prepared formulations indicated good physical stability. In-vitro drug permeation studies of formulations were performed by using Franz diffusion cells using abdomen skin of Wistar albino rat. Result, showed best in-vitro skin permeation through rat skin (Wistar albino rat) as compared to all other formulations prepared with hydrophilic polymer containing permeation enhancer. It was observed that the formulation containing HPMC: EudragitRS100 (8:2) showed ideal higuchi release kinetics. On the basis of in vitro drug release through skin permeation performance, Formulation F1 was found to be better than other formulations and it was selected as the optimized formulation.

Abstract
An electric vehicle, also called an EV, uses one or more electric motors or traction motors for propulsion. Battery charger is an important part of EV because it works as a fuel for vehicles. This paper presents and implement of a new battery charger for electric vehicle with parameter improvement. In the present configuration, the conventional diode converter at the source end of existing electric vehicle (EV) battery charger is eliminated with modified Landsman power factor correction (PFC) converter. Power factor are essential concern of such type of system sothat it can become more robustness and useful.
A Comparative Study of Rotary Drum, Barrel and Pit Composting using Municipal Solid Waste of Guwahati City
Authors: Rajiv Lochan Bikash Roy, Dr. D. K. Mahanta
Abstract
Guwahati, the gateway of North East India is facing scarcity of landfill for municipal solid waste (MSW) disposal due to increase in waste generation. Currently, the generated waste is being dumped into the landfill without treatment. This may lead to further shortage of dumping ground and may cause severe damage to the ecosystem. It may also contaminate the water body and the ground water of the surrounding area. Hence, an experiment was carried out at Assam Engineering College, premises in order to find a fruitful solution to mitigate the problem. In this work, three composting methods viz. rotary drum, pit and barrel composting were adopted. All the composters were filled with segregated household waste collected from the vicinity of the campus. From the series of experiments it was found that the rotary drum took least time to decompose whereas barrel composting took maximum days to alter the waste into compost.
Modeling of Demand Management for a Wind Battery Powered Micro-Grid
Authors: Bipina K, Lekshmi R. R
Abstract
The wind energy is a clean energy source that is used to meet the electricity needs of consumers from small to large. The nature of intermittency prevents it from being used as a continuous source of energy. The paper presents a solution to this by storing the energy from the wind turbine to a battery and supplying to the dc loads when the energy is not available from the turbine. This paper also incorporates a Demand Management system that manages the prioritized controllable loads. The demand management system is adopted based on the voltage at the dc bus bar. The system has been modeled in MATLAB/Simulink. The proposed system proves to be efficient and economic in providing supply to the connected dc loads. The system is also effective in providing a reliable supply to critical dc loads even if wind is unavailable for long period.
Phytochemical Screening and Antioxidant Studies in the Pulp Extracts of Cucurbita Maxima
Authors: Rangarajan Narasimhan, Sathiyamoorthy. M
Abstract
Plant products have been part of phytomedicines since time immemorial. The medicinal properties of Cucurbita maxima include anti-diabetic, antioxidant, anticarcinogenic, and anti-inflammatory effects. The objective of this study was to identify the phytochemicals and antioxidants levels in the Cucurbita maxima pulp extracts. The crude ethanol and chloroform extracts of Cucurbita maxima were subjected to preliminary screening. The Phytochemical screening of the Cucurbita maxima pulp extracts revealed the presence of polyphenols, alkaloids, flavanoids, terpenoids, and glycosides. The chemical screening further showed the presence of various amino acids. The pulp homogenate of Cucurbita maxima showed the presence of reasonable levels of enzymatic and nonenzymatic antioxidants.
