Internet of Things applications in Healthcare
Author: Archana Chaudhary Thakur
Abstract
The Internet of Things (IoT) is fundamentally a system which contains smart objects with different sensors, networks, and processing technologies. IoT is regarded as to change the way internet works and carries altogether the areas like machine-to-machine communication, artificial intelligence, big data etc. to work underneath the same umbrella such that cyber space and human (physical systems) are more entangled and hence offers ubiquitous computing giving rise to cyber physical systems. Hence IoT is an integrated system working collectively to provide smart services to the end-users. IoT offers great benefits to us. It provides an environment where smart services are provided to use any activity anytime & anywhere. These smart services are provided through different applications running in the IoT environment. IoT applications examine & consequently help in quick decision-making process for client management. In the present work, application of IoT in the field of healthcare systems is discussed. In any healthcare system, the use of IoT technologies brings convenience to both physicians as well as patients. IoT applications assist in various medical areas like continuous real-time monitoring, management of patient information, management of blood banks etc.
Comparative Study of Flat Slab Building With Shear Wall And Bracing
Authors: Md. Shahzar, Md. Tasleem
Abstract
Earthquake is the natural calamity, it produce strong ground motions which affect the structure. Small or weak motions that can or cannot be felt by the humans. Provision of shear walls and bracings are installed to enhance the lateral stiffness, ductility, minimum lateral displacements and safety of the structure. Story drift and lateral displacements are the critical issues in seismic design of buildings. Three types of frame models are developed and evaluated by static analysis by ETABS. In the present work G+24 multistory building is analyzed by using shear wall and bracing .Main purpose of this study is to compare the seismic response of the structure.

Abstract
With the advances in geo-positioning technologies and location-based services, it is nowadays quite common for road networks to have textual contents on the vertices. Previous work on identifying an optimal route that covers a sequence of query keywords has been studied in recent years. However, in many practical scenarios, an optimal route might not always be desirable. For example, a personalized route query is issued by providing some clues that describe the spatial context between PoIs along the route, where the result can be far from the optimal one. Therefore, in this paper, we investigate the problem of clue-based route search (CRS), which allows a user to provide clues on keywords and spatial relationships. First, we propose a greedy algorithm and a dynamic programming algorithm as baselines. To improve efficiency, we develop a branch-and-bound algorithm that prunes unnecessary vertices in query processing. In order to quickly locate candidate, we propose an AB-tree that stores both the distance and keyword information in tree structure. To further reduce the index size, we construct a PB-tree by utilizing the virtue of 2-hop label index to pinpoint the candidate. Extensive experiments are conducted and verify the superiority of our algorithms and index structures.

Abstract
Social media sharing websites allow users to annotate images with free tags, which significantly contribute to the development of the web image retrieval. Tag-based image search is an important method to find images shared by users in social networks. However, how to make the top ranked result relevant and with diversity is challenging. In this paper, we propose a topic diverse ranking approach for tag-based image retrieval with the consideration of promoting the topic coverage performance. First, we construct a tag graph based on the similarity between each tag. Then community detection method is conducted to mine the topic community of each tag. After that, inter-community and intra-community ranking are introduced to obtain the final retrieved results. In the inter-community ranking process, an adaptive random walk model is employed to rank the community based on the multi-information of each topic community. Besides, we build an inverted index structure for images to accelerate the searching process. Experimental results on Flickr dataset and NUS-Wide datasets show the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
