Authors: Viveksarathi Kunasekaran, Kannan Krishnamoorthy
Abstract
Objective: Compatibility study is an important element that should be performed at the early development stage of stable and effective solid dosage form. Methods: The compatibility studies of drug with different polymers and surfactant were investigated by using different methods Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) and Isothermal Stress Testing (IST). The compatibility study of Rasagiline mesylate was performed with Chitosan, Stearic acid and Poloxamer 407. Drug and polymer mixtures were prepared in 1:1 ratio and the compatibility study was performed at25°C±2/60%±5RHand 40°C±2/75%±5RHfor one month. The resulting compatible drug and excipients were used in the formulation of solid lipid nanoparticles by Microemulsion method. Results: FTIR Spectroscopy results suggest that there is good compatibility between the drug and polymers. DSCresults showed that interaction between Rasagiline mesylate and Chitosan, the other excipients were compatible with RM and the IST study results clearly indicate the stable nature of the Rasagiline mesylate. The prepared RM-SLNs formulation shows a mean particle size within the nanometre range. SEM confirmed the size and shape of RM-SLNs. The results of zeta potential indicates a narrow size distribution. The RM-SLNs were found to be with acceptable morphometric properties, narrow size distribution, high entrapment efficiencyand good stability after 3 months of storage at different conditions (25°C±2/60%±5RH and 40°C±2/75%±5RH). Conclusion: The FTIR, DSC and IST results shown that Stearic acid and Poloxamer 407were found to be compatible with Rasagilinemesylate. The Rasagiline mesylate loaded nanoscale solid lipid particles was successfully formulated with compatible excipients and it was found to be stable after accelerated stabilitystudies.
Quality Control Standardization of the Bark of Moringa Oleifera Lam
Authors: Kumar Sarvesh, Maurya Santosh Kumar, Seth Ankit
Abstract
bjective: Moringa oleifera Lam. (Morangaceae) is a large glabrous tree, found throughout India. It is well known for curing a variety of ailments such as wound Healing, dysentery, fever, diarrhea and urinary problems. The present study highlights the pharmacognostical and phytochemical parameters of the bark of M. oleifera. Methods: The quality control standardization was performed following the standard parameters prescribed in World Health Organization guidelines and Indian Herbal Pharmacopoeia. Results: Standardization parameters show that it contains calcium oxalate crystal, starch grains and stone cells. High ash value may be due to presence of calcium oxalate crystals. Extractive value is high for water as compared to other solvent which accounts for the presence of comparatively more polar compounds. It contains different chemical constituents as carbohydrate, amino acid, terpenoid and saponin. Total saponin content was found to be 3.022 mg/g equivalent to diosgenin. Conclusion: The present observations will aid in the botanical identification and standardization of the drug in crude form and will help to distinguish the drug from its other species.

Design And Simulation of Bridgeless Cuk Converter For EV Charger To Increase The Power Quality
Authors: S. Areef Ahammad, M. L Dwarakanad
Abstract
A Cuk converter based EV (Electric vehicle) battery charger is designed and developed in this work. It supplies affordable as well as high-power density-based billing service for EV. This charger includes much less variety of tools running over one switching cycle, which minimizes the additional transmission loss incurred by a diode bridge rectifier of conventional battery charger and hence, enhances the charger effectiveness. Throughout constant present and also consistent voltage regions, the commands for battery charging are synchronized by a flyback converter. The included benefit of recommended geography is that the undesirable capacitive combining loophole is eliminated, as well as unwanted conduction via the body diode of non-active button in formerly created BL Cuk converter is prevented. This substantially boosts the charger effectiveness. For the consistent present and also continuous voltage (Curriculum Vitae) charging, the commands are synchronized by a flyback converter. The suggested charger is examined to demonstrate the improved power quality. Test results validate the better performance of the recommended battery charger.
